Keene Memorial Library to continue computer classes.

Below are the dates, times, and topics of the computer class schedule.
The space is limited so reserve your spot.
Also, watch for additional classes to follow after this session, and if you have suggestions for other classes then let us know.

 1st Class – Introduction to using the library’s computers     Dates: Wednesday, September 30th, 6:00 pm & Monday, October 5th, 8:30 am

 2nd Class – Computer Basics    Dates: Monday, October 12th , 8:30 am & Wednesday, October 7th , 6:00 pm 

 3rd Class – Introduction to the Internet     Dates: Monday, October 26th , 8:30 am & Wednesday, October 21st , 6:00 pm

 4th Class – Internet Expanded    Dates: Monday, November 9th , 8:30 am & Wednesday, November 4th  , 6:00 pm

 5th Class – Email basic     Dates: Monday, November 23rd , 8:30 am & Wednesday, November 18th  , 6:00 pm

Brown-bag Lunch Series

Pack a lunch and spend it with us.

The library will be presenting classes to be held over the lunch hour. These informational presentations will have tips and tricks for a wide range of topics, from how to search for employment to how to use your ipad to borrow library books. 

Below is the schedule of session in the coming months. If you have ideas for other sessions, please suggest them to a staff member.

Upcoming Events

October 6: Jeff Barnes presents Buffalo Bill's Nebraska (7-8:30 pm)
Jeff Barnes is a member of the Humanities Nebraska Speaker's Bureau. He offers a number of historic talks about the Great Plains for libraries and other organizations.

Barnes' presentation commemorates the 100th anniversary of Buffalo Bill Cody's "Wile West Show" in Fremont. He was born, raised and died in other states but Nebraska is where William F. Cody LIVED. Find out how the Cornhusker State helped turn Buffalo Bill from an Army Scout into perhaps the world's first superstar.

October 26: Thomas Berg presents on Beverly Deepe Keever: An Unconventional Woman for an Unconventional War
(part of our One Book, One Nebraska series)

This year's OB,ON selection is Death Zones and Darling Spies: Seven Years of Vietnam Reporting by Beverly Deep Keever. Thomas Berg from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln will speak about the author and her activities during this period.
