Beginning Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the City of Fremont Water Department will continue hydrovac work in preparation for the Lead Service Line Replacement Project. This work helps verify water service line material types so the project can move forward efficiently.
Work Area (March)
Hydrovac work will take place in the following phased sections during the month of March (see map here):
Phase 2
Military Ave – 19th
Bell St – Luther
Phase 3
19th – 23rd
Bell St – Luther
Phase 4
Bell St – Broad St
16th – 23rd
Phase 5
Bell St – Broad St

Please note: There is no exact timeframe for each phase/section. Not every home within these areas will be affected—only properties requiring verification.
If work is needed near your property, Water Department staff will leave a door hanger notification to inform residents.
What is a Curb Stop?
A curb stop is a small underground valve, typically located near the property line, that connects the water main to a home’s service line.
What to Expect
- Water Department crews and hydrovac trucks in the area
- Temporary equipment and work activity
- Noise from excavation equipment
- No planned water service interruptions
Restoration
Once work is complete, impacted areas will be properly backfilled and restored.
This proactive work supports federal lead service line requirements and helps ensure safe, reliable drinking water for our community.
