Tonight at 7 p.m. the Fremont City Council takes up two issues related to the local immigration ordinance passed by the voters last month. The Council will consider a resolution to suspend implementation and enforcement in preparation for legal defense of the ordinance.
The Council will also discuss legal representation and coverages in the two lawsuits related to the ordinance filed against the city. Both items are scheduled early in the agenda.
The Council will hear public input on both agenda items. If seating is at capacity, speakers will be allowed to enter the council chambers to speak and leave after they make their comments.
The Council will take a brief break after the immigration related matters to allow news media to leave City Council chambers.
