The City of Fremont City Council on June 28, 2011 passed two occupation taxes that will become effective October 1, 2011. Ordinance No. 5208 assesses a four percent (4%) occupation tax on hotel sleeping accommodations (hotels, motels, tourist hotels, campgrounds, courts, lodging houses, inns and nonprofit hotels) within the city limits. The hotel occupation taxes are to be submitted on a monthly basis. Ordinance No. 5209 assesses a four percent (4%) occupation tax on telecommunication services. These services are defined as the gross receipts from the legally established basic monthly charges collected for local exchange telephone service to subscribers within the City, intrastate message toll telephone service and mobile telecommunications services for revenue in the City. The telecommunication occupation taxes are to be submitted on a quarterly basis.
Those establishments affected by the occupation taxes can find more information and the remittance forms below (look for Helpful Links at the bottom of the page). Also for your convenience, the ability to file an electronic submission of the required remittances should be available in the future on our website! And finally, you can find the remittance forms at the Nebraska Department of Revenue website at the following address: http://www.revenue.ne.gov/info/occupation_tax.html.
