American military servicemen and women exemplify the characteristics of heroes every day. It is through their sacrifice and dedication that you and I are free to live and work in America today.
Millions of Americans’ lives were forever altered because they donned a uniform to protect our freedom and rights.
While those who died remain prominent in our memories, they have a special time of mourning reserved for Memorial Day. The 23.8 million living veterans deserve the same recognition and appreciation. Veterans Day is our opportunity to publicly commemorate the contributions of those living veterans.
So, on November 11th, find a veteran to thank. You don’t have to look far. They are our neighbors, our fathers, uncles, brothers, sisters, coworkers. Remember, all gave some, and some gave all.
The City of Fremont/Department of Utilities will be closed on November 11th so that we too may honor our heroes.
