[ARCHIVED] Telephone and Email Scammers Targeting Department of Utilities Customers

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE FREMONT DEPARTMENT OF UTILITIES
February 17, 2014

Fremont Department of Utilities’ customers recently have been contacted by suspicious telephone and email scammers asking for payment of current or past utility charges to avoid disconnection of services. Do not respond to such solicitations for utility payments. Some scammers may refer people to an Omaha telephone number that could sound legitimate, but it is not.

Call the Customer Service Department at 402.727.2600 during regular business hours if you have questions regarding your Fremont Department of Utilities bill or have any doubts about your bill status. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
