[ARCHIVED] New Splash Pad at Ruwe Park

splashgrounds.jpg

Beginning the week of May 12, construction will begin for a new splash pad for Ruwe Park. The splash pad is an addition to the park that came about with the sale of the Memorial Park land from the City of Fremont to the YMCA for the YMCA’s future aquatic center.

Construction of the new splash pad is anticipated to take place Monday, May 12-Friday, May 23. Contractors will be working in the west side of the park, close to the shelter and current playground.

The week of May 12, the work will involve site prep, excavation, setting the water feature bases and rough-ins for plumbing and electrical.

The week of May 19th will involve grading and compact base, forming and pouring slab, finishing the plumbing and electrical, setting the water features, testing and start-up.

We plan to have the splash pad ready by Memorial weekend but the project is dependent on the cooperation of the weather.

Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact the Parks and Recreation office at 402-727-2630.
