Fremont’s Wastewater Treatment Superintendent Keith Kontor was presented the William D. Hatfield Award at the annual NWEA fall conference in Kearney on November 5. Presenting the award was Jenny Hartfelder, WEF Dignitary.
Keith was honored for his outstanding performance and professionalism in the operations of the Fremont Wastewater facility. Keith has 25 years of experience and has been the Wastewater Superintendent of the Fremont Department of Utilities for 14 years. He is a Grade 4 Wastewater operator and a Grade 1 Water Operation licensed through the State of Nebraska.
Keith was presented the award by the Water Environment Federation, a national organization that promotes protecting public health and clean water worldwide. Fremont also received the Scott Wilbur Award for Outstanding Operation and Maintenance of a Wastewater Treatment Facility for the 10th year in a row at the conference.
