[ARCHIVED] Water Main Flushing

The Water Department will be flushing water mains from Sunday, May 12, through Friday, May 17.  Flushing will be restricted to the hours of 10:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. to minimize inconvenience to customers.  Flushing will start on the south end of town and progress north. 

The following is the approximate flushing schedule starting late in the evening through the early morning hours on the following dates:  

                         Sunday, May 12                     South Broad Street north to First Street

                        Monday, May 13                     First to Ninth Streets

                        Tuesday, May 14                     Ninth to 16 Streets

                        Wednesday, May 15               16 to 23 Streets

                        Thursday, May 16                   23 Street to northern service areas

                        Friday, May 17                       Flushing should be completed that morning.  

Please adjust your water use accordingly.  You may want to consider shutting off your water softeners or underground sprinkler systems while your area is flushed.
