[ARCHIVED] Annual Utility Pole Testing Program

Utility Pole Testing 2025

Fremont Department of Utilities – Customer Notification

The Fremont Department of Utilities (FDU) would like to inform the public of ongoing field work being performed by Technology Inspections, a contracted partner working on behalf of FDU. This work is part of the 2025 Annual Utility Pole Testing Program, an essential component of our continued commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable electrical distribution system.

Crews from Technology Inspections will be completing brief work on utility poles as part of our 2025 Annual Utility Pole Testing Program at subject properties.

This year’s general testing areas include: East 8th Street to Morningside Rd (North and South) and Luther Road to Nye Avenue (East and West)

Workers will need access to utility poles for this purpose. In these areas, you can expect the following:

• If access to poles is hindered by locked gates or structures, workers will knock on customer doors to gain access. If necessary, they will leave a notification to schedule a return visit.

• Workers are mindful of the potential presence of pets in fenced areas and will take all necessary precautions to ensure pet and worker safety during inspections.

• Workers usually wear high-visibility clothing and carry identification badges from Technology Inspections. Their trucks are marked accordingly.

• The work is brief, typically taking only 7-10 minutes per pole.

• Workers generally operate 7 days a week, until inspections are completed.

If you have any further questions, you may contact FDU Electrical Engineering at (402) 727-2613 and you will be directed to an appropriate project team member for further information or an explanation of work being done in your neighborhood.

FDU appreciates the continued support of the community as we work to maintain and improve our electrical distribution system.
