The Fremont Police Internship Program is intended to create a viable learning experience for college students while simultaneously protecting the integrity and confidentiality of the Fremont Police Department.
Internship Sessions: One Intern per session
- January-April - Deadline to apply: November 1st
- May-August - Deadline to apply: March 1st
- September-December - Deadline to apply: July 1st
Eligibility
- With few exceptions, eligibility is limited to currently enrolled area college students who desire an internship with a law enforcement agency to help meet academic requirements for their degree program.
- Application
- Potential applicants must submit a letter of interest to be considered for the program.
- The letter of interest should include the following:
- Name, date of birth, address, email and phone number.
- Name of the learning Institute, number of years enrolled, and Internship requested
- A copy of applicant’s photo ID
- The letter of interest can be mailed to (Fremont Police Department 725 N. Park, Fremont, Nebraska 68025, Attn: Captain Bottorff) or emailed to kurt.bottorff@fremontne.gov
Background
- A background check will be conducted on individuals submitting letters of interest.
- Oral Interview
- Oral interviews will be conducted with applicants that pass their background check.
Approval
- The Fremont Police Chief will make the final decision on who is approved for the Internship.
- Approved Interns will be required to sign waivers prior to starting.
